mathNEWS

For 2 years, I served as an editor of mathNEWS, the University of Waterloo's math factulty student newsletter. Established in 1971, mathNEWS has been Waterloo's self-proclaimed "bastion of erudite thought", allowing students to submit articles about anything and everything for publication in a well-designed, physical newsletter.

Publishing the issue involved working with a team of volunteers to manage deadlines and produce the issue on a consistent schedule, six times per term, eighteen times per year. We needed to coordinate vendor relationships with the printing firm, as well as responsibly handle over $10,000 in funding each term to get the issues in the hands of students on time and under budget.

What I'm most proud of is the consistent quality standards that myself and the other editors achieved, as well as how we gave the Waterloo Math community an outlet for creative expression with a broad audience on campus. Occasionally, we'd even make the news.
